-Former representative of Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has replied those saying he should sell off his wealth

Popular Nigerian politician, Dino Melaye, has replied his numerous critics who have been attacking his show of wealth and asking that he sell off all his cars. In a viral video released by the politician on Monday, May 18, Dino said that he wants to use the medium to squarely address those who have been on his neck to sell all his automobiles as if it would put a stop to the country's problems.

The former upper chamber member said that he has never for once claimed to be all-in-all, adding that he is doing the best within his limits to help people. "The truth of the matter is that if I sell everything I have, I would become poor. And only the rich can deliver the poor, the poor cannot deliver the poor," he said selling off his wealth.

The politician also said that he is not an impulsive giver and that he gives things based on the instruction of the Holy Spirit. Dino said everyone has their passion, and that for him, automobiles is it. He said that he will even add more to his fleet of cars, adding that there is a delivery currently on the sea for him. "I ain't gonna sell any of my cars, I am even praying for more wealth to buy more.... My passion is automobile, I have one on the sea that I am expecting now...," he said.

He said this during an Instagram live chat with Dele Momodu of Ovation. When the media guru asked if he does not have anything to hide, Dino said that he is perhaps the most investigated Nigerian. The politician said that he has on many occasions invited men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to look at his wealth.

In other related news, Melaye gave money to some banana hawkers, advising them on the need to stay at home and obey the guidelines on coronavirus. Before the politician gave the hawkers money, he spoke long to them on how they are endangering their lives by going out and selling their wares during the pandemic.

He said that they may not know when they could come in contact with any infected customer. One of the women said that though she knew the danger of doing such, she could not afford to stay at home.
