Protesters have stormed US Embassy in Abuja, demanding the arrest and prosecution of Atiku, Timi Frank, Dino Melaye and other PDP members in connection to their alleged link with Hushpuppi.

The protesters are reported to be members of Concerned Citizens Forum (CCF).
that they should act mow to arrest Dino Melaye, Timi frank, Atiku and other PDP members that are in game.

Faith said that she and Obasanjo do have father and daughter issues and that the money the former president gave have has been useful to her life because she is now a CEO of Big Man Naija reality TV show and that she owns a resort and hotel which she bought for $1 million USD.

Apparently, a number of people found the video amusing as they did not believe she is actually the ‘side daughter’ of nigeria former president.

Lagos State Government has produced solar-powered kiosks for farmers

Lagos State Government has produced solar-powered kiosks that would ensure easy and effective market access for farmers, agripreneurs and stakeholders in an eco-friendly manner.



Olusanya asserted that the kiosks are potential revenue earners and savers for small businesses, especially farmers with perishable food, as the kiosks would help them keep their businesses open for a longer period than they would have if there was no means of electricity.

She disclosed further that the kiosks, in addition to producing renewable energy, would also dispense clean energy while excess power is distributed through the main grids, thus allowing for charging of other devices such as refrigerators and other gadgets.

BREAKING NEWS - EFCC drags illegal Indian oil dealer to court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,( EFCC), in Lagos on Tuesday, arraigned one Rahul Pathania, an Indian, and a vessel, M.V. Bount, before Justice Rilwan. M. Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

He was arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on illegal dealing in petroleum products.

The defendant was arrested alongside the vessel by the Nigerian Navy and subsequently handed over to to the Commission for prosecution.

One of the counts read: “That you, M.V.Bount and Rahul Pathania, on the 31st day of January 2020, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, conspired among yourselves to commit an offence to wit: dealing in 45 metric tons of petroleum product without appropriate licence and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 3(6) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act Cap M17, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, and punishable under Section 1(7) of the same Act.”

The defendant pleaded guilty to the first count of conspiracy but not guilty to the others.

Prosecution counsel, Usman Buhari, prayed the court for a date to commence trial.

He also asked that the defendant be remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS).

Justice Liman adjourned the matter to October 7, 2020 for commencement of trial and also ordered the defendant to be remanded in the NCS.

JUST IN - Tanker explodes on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced diversion of traffic on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, following an explosion involving four trailers on Sunday morning at Kara Bridge, NAN reports

The State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Olusegun Ogungbemide, made the announcement in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.

He said, “Following the unfortunate crash that involved three fuel tankers and one other trailer that were engulfed in an inferno in the early hours of the day, FRSC operatives immediately mobilized and invited fire servicemen to extinguish the fire.

“The situation, expectedly, impaired traffic situation around the scene of the fire outbreak and beyond.

“This affected motorists, especially those driving out of Lagos.


There has been an explosion on Kara Bridge,

 “To cushion the effect on the road users, FRSC temporarily diverted traffic between New Garage and the end of Kara bridge to allow a counter-flow for Ibadan bound traffic to use a lane from the Lagos bound section of the expressway.

“FRSC hereby admonished motorists using the temporary lane to obey instructions from traffic officials around the scene of the crash and urged them to drive with caution.”

He further explained that while the burning fire is being extinguished and waiting to clear up the wreckages off the road, motorists who are not close to the scene are advised to explore alternative routes.

“Those traveling from Ibadan may turn at Sagamu interchange and use Abeokuta to Lagos through Sango Otta, Abule Egba, Iyana-Ipaja.

“However, motorists around Mowe, Ibafo entering into Lagos or vice-versa using the temporary lane should please drive with extreme caution,” he added.

He also urged motorists to drive with care, adding that the FRSC wished everyone safe journey to their various destinations.

PHOTO - four 4 persons escape death in Kaduna after commercial bus plunged into drainage

Four persons, including a pregnant woman, on Friday escaped death after a commercial bus plunged into a drainage in Kaduna due to over speeding.

The commercial bus which conveyed passengers from Kaduna Central market, by Ahmadu Bello Way was in full-speed when it lost control and approached the popular Peugeot traffic junction, by the Television Garage, Kaduna.

An eye witness, a police traffic officer, Sergeant Thomas Akuna told DAILY POST that the driver was lucky, because there was no oncoming vehicle in front or behind.

“I watched carefully as the bus was coming with full speed from Kaduna north, and was going towards Gonin Gora in Chikun Local Government Area of the state. All of a sudden, I heard a loud sound.” Thomas said

Also speaking, one of the passengers who identified himself as Mrs Rhoda Aligema said she went to Kaduna Central market gate to buy fish for resale. She said, while she was inside the bus, she kept advising the driver against over speeding, but he wouldn’t listen.

“The way the driver was speeding, I kept telling him to reduce his speed. Even one of the back seat passengers told him to stop for him to come down if he continued with the speed, but the driver didn’t listen.

“Well, I thank God for sparing my life. I am so happy that I have no bruise. May the name of God be glorified.” She played

Though only two people sustained minor injuries, officials of Kaduna State Traffic and Environmental Law Enforcement ( KASTLEA) who were at the scene were already making frantic efforts to take the injured to a nearby hospital and evacuate the damaged bus from the scene.

former Oyo State Governor Ajimobi’s daughter breaks silence on rumours about his ‘death’

Fatima Ganduje, one of the daughters of former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has debunked rumours claiming he is dead.

She took to her Twitter page, to confirm Ajimobi is alive.

“Thank you for all the messages but our father is still alive, alhamdulillah.

“When it is our time we will all die so wait first,” Fatima wrote.

JUST IN - 42 years old husband of two wives rapes 13-year-old girl in Yola

 A 42-year-old resident of Ngwalam, a village in Numan local government area of Adamawa State, has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.

The man, Ahmadu Idris, was reported to have lured the minor who sells clothing materials by asking her to take the materials to his wives.

The father of the victim, Mallam Musa Abubakar explained that immediately his daughter entered the suspect’s house, the suspect directed her to proceed to his second wife’s apartment where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her after he allegedly threatened to kill her if she resisted his moves.

Abubakar added that the suspect’s second wife came back home and caught them in the act and that she reacted by screaming, thereby attracting the attention of neighbours.

He stressed that they reported the matter to the ward head of Ngwalam who advised them to move to the police station in Numan town.

The Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje has confirmed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Numan local government area brought the matter to the police headquarters in Yola

Nguroje added that the incident occurred last week when the teenage girl was sent by her grandmother to sell some wrappers to neighbours.

Nguroje assured that the matter would be duly investigated and the culprit prosecuted.

State Police arrest village head, Pastor, others for defilement, rape in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State police command said it has apprehended one Etteidung Okon Stephen, a 60-year-old village head of Ibesikpo Asutan local government Area for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl.

The command added that it also arrested one Victor Victor, a pastor in one of the churches in Ntak Inyang, Etim Ekpo L.G.A of the State for defiling an 8-year-old girl.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, CSP Frederic Nnudam in a Statement on Tuesday explained that the village head bought bean cake(akara) from the victim and asked her to come into his room to get her money, unfortunately, on reaching the room, the suspect grabbed the victim and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

The PPRO further explained that the pastor defiled the 8year old victim who was sent by her guardian to deliver a tin of peak milk to him.

Other cases of rape as contained in the Statement were, “on 1/4/2020, at about 2:00am, f one Peter Emmanuel Ekanem ‘m’ on the basis of an outcry by a victim of a case of rape which prompted a good spirited individual to place a distress call to the Police.

Investigation revealed that the suspect conspired with other suspects now at large and forcefully took the lady at gunpoint to a primary school field in Ikot Akpa Ekpuk village, Ikono LGA where she was raped. Suspect confessed to the crime. A locally made pistol was recovered from the suspect. Investigation is in progress.

“On 28/5/2020 at about 9:00am, based on reliable intelligence, Detectives of Ibesikpo Asutan Division arrested one Henry Okon Henry ‘m’, aged 30yrs of Mbokpueyokan, Urue-Offong Oruko L.G.A, but resides at Ikot Ambon, Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A. Investigation revealed that the suspect forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of his 17-yr-old niece, and also threatened to kill the victim if she attempts to escape or raise alarm.

”Following a complaint on 13/6/2020 at about 5:20pm, Operatives of ‘C’ Division arrested one Solomon Emmanuel Okon ‘m’ and Becky Umoretuk ‘f’. Suspects conspired and lured a 26-yr-old lady to their house and unlawfully assaulted her with fist blow and machete, in the process Solomon Emmanuel Okon ‘m’ forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.”

He said all suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of investigations, adding that the fight against gender-based violence and other crimes will be heightened to ensure that perpetrators do not have a safe haven or escape justice in the State

Lagos state High Court Sentences Two Men to Death for Robbery, Rape

The Lagos State High Court, Igbosere, on Wednesday sentenced two armed robbers, Williams Umoh Udoh and Ubong Lazarus Isaiah to death for armed robbery and rape in Lagos.

The Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, who is also the State lead prosecutor, Ms. Titilayo Shitta-Bey, said the two robbers were earlier arraigned by the government on an amended five-count charge in June 2017.

President Buhari has revealed why he joined politics

President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed why he joined partisan politics after he was released from prison over thirty years ago.

The Nation reports that the president made the revelation when he received the youths leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who came from across the country to pay him a visit in Abuja, Buhari.

Legit.ng gathered that Buhari said he took interest in politics after a clean bill on his integrity by those who detained him after the 1985 military coup and who thoroughly checked his record as governor of the northeast, minister of petroleum and head of state and found nothing incriminating against him.

He said: “After I was released and nothing was found on me I took interest in politics. This is what pushed me into partisan politics; to serve with integrity. So, I decided to try leadership as a civilian, after taking off the military uniform."

In his remarks, the national youth leader of the APC, Comrade Sadiq Shuaibu Abubakar, congratulated the president for winning the presidential elections in 2019, assuring him that the youths would continue to support his policies and vision of greatness for the country. Kogi election: Dino Melaye mourns as nephew is shot dead at his polling unit

The violence that took over the governorship and senatorial elections in Kogi state has resulted in the death of a nephew to Senator Dino Melaye, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the re-run for the legislative seat.

Melaye confirmed the death of Olorunjuwon early on Sunday, November 17, saying the deceased paid the ultimate price for the liberation of the Kogi people. "My nephew Olorunjuwon who was shot at my pooling unit yesterday died this morning. My brother your death is a Supreme sacrifice in the struggle for the liberation of our people. Rest in peace aburo... So sad," Melaye mourned.
Melaye had earlier accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of forcing polling officers of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to sign new results while also raising an alarm that figures were being altered at the local government collation centres in favour of the party.

He accused the governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, of compromising electoral officers in the election.
Melaye, however, noted that despite the violence that marred the election in his senatorial district, he was sure to win the poll adding that the result in his favour would remain the same even if the exercise is done 100 times. “I am calling on the security agencies and INEC to respect their promise that where ever ballot boxes are taken away, it cannot be recorded and that votes in that unit will be cancelled.
“All these areas they have taken ballot boxes and ballot papers away should not be entertained to all at the collation centre," he urged.

LIVE UPDATES: Kogi and Bayelsa governorship elections begin

Today, Saturday, November 16, has been scheduled for the governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Kogi and Bayelsa are among the six states that did not participate in the governorship elections during the 2019 general elections. Others are Anambra, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo and Osun.

These states' governorship elections are conducted outside of the election cycle as a result of court judgments that nullified the election of their governors at different times in the past.

Meanwhile, apart from the governorship elections, two other elections will be conducted: the Kogi West senatorial rerun involving Senator Dino Melaye, Smart Adeyemi and 22 other candidates and a supplementary election in six polling units in Brass 1 state constituency, Bayelsa. the electoral body said it had adequately prepared for the elections, assuring that election materials have been distributed appropriately.
The Nigeria police have also given assurance on security during the elections, adding that 66,241 officers have been deployed to the two states.
