Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has been voted ‘the greatest striker’ in the English Premier League history.
Henry joined the Gunners in 1999 from Juventus for £11 million’s club record deal.
The Frenchman went on to become the North London club’s all-time leading goalscorer, with 228 goals.
He is the only player ever to have won the FWA Footballer of the Year three times, becoming his country’s all-time top scorer while securing his place in football history.
However, in an online poll conducted by the SPORTbible’s audience on the topic of ‘the greatest striker’ in Premier League debate, the likes of Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba, Liverpool legend, Michael Owen and former Chelsea forward, Andy Cole missed out as the Premier League’s all-time top scorer Alan Shearer joined Thierry Henry, Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney.
Over 20,000 people voted for their personal favourite and Henry came out on top with 49% of the vote, while, Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer came second with 36% of votes.
Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney and Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero lagged behind with 10% and 4%, respectively.
