The pontiff had just finished celebrating mass in Iquique and was travelling in his motorcade when the officer's horse reared up violently as the vehicle approached and the officer who was on guard tumbled off. Francis now descended from his popemobile and he stood by the woman until an ambulance came with a stretcher and took her away before he went back to his ride.
